Dr. Martha Hernández is a Bilingual Clinical Psychologist in the State of California (PSY27401) and provides psychotherapy in a private practice setting in the Piedmont/Oakland Area.
She earned her B.S. from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and both her M.A. and Ph.D. from the California School of Professional Psychology - Los Angeles. She also earned an Executive Healthcare Leadership Certificate and Diversity and Inclusion Certificate, both from from Cornell University; a Certificate in Alcohol/Drug Abuse Studies from UCLA-Extension. She completed an American Psychological Association (APA) Accredited Pre-Doctoral Internship at the Child and Family Guidance Center, a trauma-focused treatment clinic for children and adolescents and her Post-Doctoral Residency at Ronald McDonald House at Stanford. Lastly, she was accepted as an APA Minority Fellow, through the MFP - Psychology Summer Institute.
Dr. Hernández is currently the Director of the Spanish Training Track and Director of Families and Wellness at Ronald McDonald House Charities - Bay Area. As part of the training faculty she provides training and supervises practicum trainees working with chronically and terminally ill children and their families. She is responsible for the Spanish Track which includes Spanish supervision and didactics. She continues to provide support to the children, adolescents, couples, and families residing at RMH with a critically ill child. Additionally, Dr. Hernández provides training for house staff and volunteers.
Her past training and work experience includes working with adults, couples, children and families, in a variety of settings including hospitals, community clinics, schools, and clients' homes. She also has neuropsychological testing and psychodiagnostic assessment experience, in both research and clinical settings at Rancho Los Amigos Hospital and University of Southern California. Dr. Hernández has provided all of her services in both Spanish and English, to meet the specific needs of each individual she works with.
